my website has been down for the past few months but i finally took proper care of it and its now back to normal.
i'll put my personal work in -there-

i'll keep posting news about old fangs, about festivals mostly. Talking about festivals, old fangs screened in galway and it went well. I felt like i'd collapse when at first the screen ratio seemed to be wrong, but it was actually fine. A little girl (around 4, i think she was Eimhin's sister) let out a brilliant, worried "oh god" in the middle of the movie, and another little girl of the same age told me later that day that she had really liked daddy wolf (!)
The other films were great, especially Donkey from Louise Bagnall, it is a great short with a cool contemplative slow pace and overall niceness which i really liked.
I missed Eamonn o Neill's On The Quiet because it was screened early sunday (boo) but i saw it since and that was brilliant too.
Check those two out if you get the chance
We got a honorable mention award thingy (i think its called) in galway, that was nice. The festival people had forgotten to mention the award at the ceremony, so we heard during breakfast the next day which was a much better time to hear about it, sipping on tea with puffy eyes

hey all sorry for the late update
the film is very close to being done. The music is finished and captivating, i am waiting for the approved wav file. Many thanks to Ninh, Martine and Laurent for their work and dedication.
I am getting the last bits and retakes from Jonas Hoffman as well, he is now done compositing and is sending those last pieces on to us. Thanks man.
I hope to get the final edit done on friday
its been a crazy amount of work, i hope this film will have a good life after its out of our hands.
I'll post a preview of the film up on the blog this weekend, but apart from that, thats pretty much it - yeay

hope to see many of youse in galway saturday week!

it was cool to play with the camera and depth of those two shots
Edit: of course blogger compressed the video turning the textures into mud, and the colours are all wrong. ah well

involved in this were Rory Byrne, Shem Shortall, Jennifer Evans and myself

just a small note to say big thanks to Jennifer for helping me finish the film...for free.
Thanks Jen. And for letting me use one of her tune in the film.
I thought the least i could do is point the nice readers of this modest blog in the direction of her brilliant music

If you have the opportunity to see herself and her band live, its well worth it, they're amazing.
thanks all

sometimes something unexpected happens in the process and when its weird enough we save it in a funk folder.
Here are some jpgs for example
Apart from that, we're trying to get the movie visually finished for the first of june. there is still some painting to do and just as much compositing... Then a good solid edit. it will then go to the music people aka Martine Altenburger, LĂȘ Quan Ninh and Laurent Sassi

I suppose we'll put a trailer together, however unnecessary it is for a short film, its pretty enjoyable to do. And a poster, ha ha ha. and put stuff up on youtube or whatever. oh boy!

em i think i'll keep this blog alive even after the film is done (its not yet but its nice to think ahead)
considering my website's down for some odd reason, and blogger is pretty convenient.
anyway! here is the old fangs freak show:

involved in the creation of those pictures were: Alan Holly, Robbie Byrne, Rory Byrne and myself.

for those unlucky people like me who find out about great bands only a couple of days after they've played in town, that is what we just missed in dublin

boo fucking boo
